Finding maternity clothes for the office that are functional, affordable and you like can be a challenge. Here are some simple ideas for building your wear to work pregnancy wardrobe online.
Last week, I shared professional maternity style inspiration in navy. This week, I’ve spotted a few more navy professional maternity dresses and great paired accessories that can often be re-purposed into postpartum and beyond (or maybe you can find something similar already in your closet!)

Ideally, you are shopping before you desperately needing any of these items… so you can take your time and keep in mind my top four questions to ask when shopping for professional maternity style.
Professional Maternity Style Inspiration
Already a Target or Target.com fan for other purchases? Maybe you’ve picked up a few clothing items from Target in the past, but did you know that Target stores offer a great maternity wear section including professional maternity styles?
If your local store doesn’t carry a large selection of maternity, please take a look at all the professional maternity style that can be found online.
And, an added perk with online shopping at Target is the ease of in-store returns, so you don’t have to worry about dealing with return shipping or packaging! (I know, I know…#firstworldproblem, but a problem nonetheless!)
Today’s maternity office style inspiration started with this navy floral maternity dress that can take you to work, church and even a baby shower or other social engagements.
I love the convenience of shopping on Amazon, but I always double check reviews and also return policies before buying any clothing on Amazon (so, please do the same!) As with their other products, there is a wide selection, so it is worth a little time to look around at the pages of Amazon.com Professional Maternity Style!
Mix and Match Professional Maternity Style
I started with this cute Navy Floral Print Maternity Dress from Target, which will be a great spring dress but also can keep you looking professional during pregnancy all winter. During chilly weather, add these well-reviewed Navy Maternity Leggings and your choice of a coverup.
In case you don’t have any maternity cardigans or nursing coverups already in your closet, here are some ideas from Amazon I’m featuring this week: Multiway Nursing Cover Scarf, Pashima Shawl, or the Black Knit Long Sleeve Sweater Cardigan.
Do you like how the model styles her navy maternity dress with booties? Grab these similar Ankle Boots Booties off Amazon.
While “body conscious” dresses have never really been my thing, during pregnancy I did find like the way that layering with body-con maternity tops and maternity dresses worked, particularly for having a pulled-together look at the office.
These two simple professional maternity dresses are available in a wide array of colors and make a great base layer for a bunch of different looks. (In fact, for the next few weeks, I’ll come up with 5 outfit ideas around each of these dresses! I’ll link them here as soon as they are posted!)
Here’s the Professional Maternity Dress – Tank and the Professional Maternity Dress – 3/4 Sleeve. These are great options for wearing throughout your pregnancy – first trimester, second trimester and third trimester!
These Professional Maternity Dresses Aren’t Nursing Friendly
By the way, the dresses I’ve listed today are not necessarily nursing friendly. The tank dress might allow pumping or nursing, but to be on the safe side, assume that these dresses would be strictly for maternity wear.
So, why am I still mentioning these dresses that “break my rules”?
Because “nursing friendly” tops may sometimes cause their own host of concerns (Maternity Camisoles to the rescue) – it’s sometimes just nice to not deal with that additional layer or worry about keeping an eye on and adjusting that part of your outfit throughout the workday!
The key really is finding pieces that you are comfortable in now and may also be dual purposed in the future (such as for early postpartum or during any weeks or months of pumping at work!) And, ideally, making use of as many existing pieces of clothing and accessories from your own closet or any maternity items already borrowed from friends!
I hope some of these ideas help you out! Drop me an email (or just comment below) if you’ve been struggling with any particular maternity style problems, and I’ll do what I can to help!
